Chicago Cap Cheatsheet

The spreadsheet above (click on it or here to enlarge) is meant to be a nice one-stop spot for Chicago Blackhawks salary cap armchair-ship. Most of this information came from CapGeek.com. If you need a little explanation, here it is:

Starting from the top left:

Hossa - Huet is a simple collection of the contracts currently slated to be on the Blackhawks' cap if the 10-11 season were to start today. The sum of those contracts is represented as "If it goes like this." The column exactly to the right (-3 million something) is how much Chicago would be over the current cap.

Can't Moves refers to the contracts I see the 'Hawks keeping either by choice or by poor contracts. This group includes Kane, Toews, Keith, Campbell, Hossa and Huet. The column to its right is an estimate of how much cap space the Hawks would have left over after those six players (if the cap ceiling never changes).

Depth/filler just includes a few non-essential players who could be moved rather easily.

Free agents includes yet-to-be-signed players. (Obviously)

Logically cannot move is the same as Can't Moves but more convenient to copy-and-paste.

Movable parts refers to the players who could conceivably be moved in a trade or be waived.

If you'd rather get an e-mail of this spreadsheet, e-mail me at cyclelikesedins[at]gmail[dot]com.

Odd Woman Rush #1 should continue Monday night. Good stuff to come!
